Imphal, March 25 2025: Kangleipak Minority Welfare Organisation, Manipur (KMWO) expressed that going ahead with the proposed delimitation exercise in the state without initiating special drives for detection of outsiders Is akin to handing over the key to robbers.

While declaring that it will not endorse or accept conduct of the delimitation exercise in the state in case outsiders are not identified and pushed back to their place of origin, a KMWO release recommended implementation of NRC prior to the delimitation exercise.

It also noted that the people of Manipur would be grateful is the central government accords importance to ending the ongoing conflict, rather than issuing order to complete the delimitation exercise within three months.

The release further suggested that the delimitation exercise should be carried out after the ongoing conflict is resolved, outsiders are identified, and a stable government is installed in the state.
