Jiribam, March 07 2025: In connection with Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign, a district level essay writing competition for school students was organised by the district administration in collaboration with ZEO, Jiribam at Kasturba Girls' High School, Babupara on Thursday.

The competition held under the theme 'A girl child is boon not burden to the society' was participated by 59 students from various schools of the district.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the competition, Jiribam deputy commissioner Krishna Kumar thanked the teachers and staff of ZEO, Jiribam involved in organising the competition.

While assuring that the central and state governments have firm resolve for welfare of the girl child, he noted that girls have brought great honours for Manipur in various fields and hoped that girls from the district will work hard to bring laurels for the district.

The prize distribution ceremony for the competition will be held during the observance of International Women's Day on March 8 .
