First executives of UMPC take oath

Imphal, July 18 2024: The first office bearers of United Meitei- Pangal Committee (UMPC), Manipur, an apex body of Meitei-Pangal community, took oath of office at Manipur Press Club on Thursday.

The executives who took oath for the term 2024-26 included Moulana Muheiyuddin as president, Raees Ahamed Tampakmayum as general secretary and Moulana Habibullah Nadwi as finance secretary.

Speaking on the occasion, Raees Ahamed informed that the body was formed during a general body meeting held on July 8, 2023 which elected a 28-member executive committee.

The aim of UMPC is to restore peace, and uphold emotional and territorial integrity of Manipur, tackle the menace of drugs that has affected people of the state along with working to unite the Meitei-Pangal diaspora, he said.
