Tribute event, medical camp organised

Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) organised a wreath laying ceremony for rifleman PP Thapa, who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
PP Thapa sustained a fatal bullet injury during face off with insurgents near Pangei village on February 5, 1960 during ROP duties.
Assam Rifles honoured the braveheart by paying homage at the War Memorial.
The ceremony commenced with the wreath laying followed by a motivational speech delivered to all ranks narrating the story of the braveheart in the service of nation.
Two officers, 15 JCOs and 43 other ranks of Assam Rifles paid tribute by laying wreaths and according guard of honour, informed a statement issued by PRO, IGAR (S).
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) conducted a free medical aid camp at Behiang village in Churachandpur district on Monday, which benefitted total of 24 villagers including eight women and four children.
Assam Rifles also provided emergency medical assistance to a 17-yearold boy of S Kholen village, who sustained injury while farming and was brought to the Unit Hospital.
Timely assistance was provided by medical team of Assam Rifles by controlling the heavy bleeding and the individual, after stabilisation, was referred to district hospital, Churachandpur for further treatment, informed the PRO in another release.
