Oilseed training programme begins

Bishnupur, February 05 2024:
Directorate of Extension Education, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Lamphelpat in association with Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) inaugurated a two-day training programme on production of oilseed in northeast Himalayan region, at Oinam in Bishnupur district on Monday.
The inaugural function was attended by All India organising secretary of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Dinesh Kulkarani; Hyderabad institute's director Dr RK Mathur; Directorate of Instruction, CAU director Dr S Basanta Singh; CAU, Imphal research director Dr Lalita M Garnayak; College of Agriculture, CAU, Imphal dean Dr Indira Sarangthem; ICAR Manipur Centre principal scientists Dr I Meghachandra Singh; and CAU, Imphal vice chancellor Dr Anupam Mishra as presidium members.
As part of the training programme, Directorate of Extension Education and College of Agriculture, Imphal distributed 22 battery-operated sprayer pumps, water melon seed, pumpkin seed, bitter gourd, beans, sweet corn, micronutrients and other inputs to the attending farmers.
