CM commits to development of state

Chief minister N Biren Singh on Monday launched processed food products under the brand name 'MANIFRESH' under the Value Chain Marketing of Quality Local Horticulture Products scheme through brand building initiatives at the Darbar Hall of Chief Minister's Secretariat, here.
Speaking at the launch function organised by Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, CM Biren affirmed that in-spite of Manipur passing through a critical juncture, the government has firm resolve to ensure implementation of developmental projects.
"Today the government has set up cold storages and as such we will be able to reduce wastages of locally grown fruits and vegetables," he said.
While highlighting implementation of 'Vocal for Local' by the Horticulture Department and TRIFED by Forest Department, the chief minister also dwelt on assistance being extended to individuals and SHGs under these missions and schemes, and expressed satisfaction over improvement in packaging of local products and increase in export of the same.
He also said that under schemes like Start Up and One Family One Livelihood, entrepreneurs and SHGs are being provided support and assistance.
Under the state government's initiatives, local products are being exported and marketed at various locations in the country, the CM said.
Meanwhile, Biren in X post said; "We have all the capabilities to build successful brands from the resources we have in the state.
With the right vision and determination, the people can help build a sustainable state economy and contribute to the growth of the nation".
The products launched on Monday included Kachai lemon tea, dehydrated pineapple, Sirarakhong flakes, Sirarakhong powder, Sirarakhong whole dry, dry cake, lotus tea, lotus incense tea, Thambou chips, Thambou seasoning, Garcinia powder, amla powder, Chakhao ladoo, Chakhao cookies, Ragi gulla, Chakhao bujiya, Brocco-kies, Indian pennywort tea, orange jam, Garcinia Osmo-air dried, banana brew, passion fruit brew, rhododendron brew, Khasi cherry brew, plum brew, kiwi brew, wild olive brew, peach brew, wildapple brew, pineapple brew and mushroom brew.
The launch function was also attended by ministers Awangbow Newmai and Thounaojam Basanta Singh, MLAs Kh Ibomcha, Sapam Kunjakeswor and M Rameshwar, horticulture commissioner T Pamei, officials of the department and entrepreneurs.
During the function, entrepreneurs whose products were launched also thanked and expressed gratitude to the government and the department for providing the needed assistance.
