State level training programmes, seminar held

The 7-Days State Level Basic Training Programme on Beekeeping organised by Manipur Beekeeping and Honey Mission (MBHM), Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur, concluded today at the Directorate's Conference Hall in Sanjenthong, Imphal.
The training programme was conducted under the sponsorship of National Bee Board, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.
The closing ceremony was attended by Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Director, K Debadutta Sharma; Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) & MBHM, Mission Director, Md Zakir Hussain Khan and Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Deputy Director (HQ), Lenin Khwairakpam along with officials & staff of MIDH.
Speaking on the occasion, K Debadutta Sharma said that beekeeping is becoming a profitable income generating activity for people of all ages because of the high demand of honey and bee related products.
Highlighting beekeeping requires minimal start-up investment & training, he called on the farmers to take up beekeeping for a sustainable income and progressive society.
Later, certificates were distributed to the trainees who participated in the training programme.
Moreover, State Level Nodal Agency (SLNA) for Watershed Management, Manipur also organised a 2-Days State Level Training on "Usage of Shrishti and Dhristi for PMKSY -WDC 2.0 in Manipur" at State Academy of Training (SAT), Takyelpat.
The training programme was inaugurated by N Kulkarani Devi, Chief Executive Officer, SLNA, in the presence of Dr Ng Romeji, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, NIT, Manipur and Dr RK Sunita Devi, Additional CEO, SLNA, Manipur.
At the event, N Kulkarani emphasized the importance of satellite-based monitoring and application of Shrishti & Dhristi for the activities undertaken under Natural Resource Management, Springshed Management, Livelihood and Production System components of PMKSY-WDC 2.0 projects which is being implemented in 13 districts of Manipur since 2021- 22 .
Dr RK Sunita Devi gave training on "Uses of Shrishti and Dristi for PMKSY-WDC 2.0 project" while Dr Ng Romeji spoke on "Springshed Interventions for Rejuvenation of Spring for para-hydrologist" .
W Premananda Singh, Programmer, SLNA presented the Shrishti and Dhristi Mobile App for geotagging of assets monitoring.
A total of 106 participants including Field Level Officials from 13 districts, secretaries/ members from Watershed Committees and User Groups constituted under the project attended the training programme.
Meanwhile, a 1-Day State Level Seminar on "Impact of Sanskrit Shastras in Manipuri Society" was organised today by Radha Madhava Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya (RMASM), Nambol, under the sponsorship of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi.
It was attended by Ch Gopalmacha Singh, retired Deputy Secretary, Government of Manipur and Y Jugeshwor Singh, principal, RMASM as presidium members.
The seminar was moderated by Shijagurumayum Vedeshwar Sharma, president, Sanskrit Bharati, Manipur Pranta.
Asem Opendro Meitei, Jyotish Department, RMASM and M Nilima Devi, Humanities Department (Sociology), RMASM; Thongbam Premjit, Meetei Panji Sanglakpa, LSTB, Imphal; Huirem Sushila Devi, Sahitya Department, RMASM; H Indrakumar Sharma, Jyotish Department, RMASM; Maisnam Anandi Devi, Sahitya Department, RMASM; H Ranjit Sharma, Vyakaran Department, RMASM; Shoubam Budha Singh, Tanyei Hanjaba, GTB, Imphal and Sairom Ahanbi Singh, president, KCB Imphal also took part in the seminar as resource persons.
