Imphal, March 27 2025: Andro AC MLA Thounaojam Shyamkumar has announced that a Temple of Chingu Nongpok Ningthou will be constructed at Nongmaijing Ching before the "Baruni Kaba Numit" of 2026.The MLA made the announcement on Thursday in connection with the "Chingoi Baruni Numit".

Thounaojam Shyamkumar said that "Chingoi Baruni Numit" is a very significant and auspicious day for people of Manipur.

"Every year thousands of people trek the Baruni to pray to Chingu Nongpok Ningthou", said the MLA while adding that a public toilet will also be constructed to assist the pilgrims in their journey.

He also shared that ongoing construction work of the 4 Km long road stretch to the pilgrimage site of "Chingoi Baruni Nongpok Ningthou" from Andro Khunjao via Panam Ningthou and Andro Khuman is almost complete.

"After completion of the road, people may travel from Andro to Imphal in just 10 to 15 minutes", said Thounaojam Shyamkumar.
