SHDCC honours Manipur in-charge Saptagiri Ulaka

Sadar Hills District Congress Committee (SHDCC) organised a reception cum felicitation programme at LNC Hotel, here, to honour Koraput (Odisha) Lok Sabha MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, the newly appointed Manipur Congress in-charge, on his maiden visit to the state.
The event marked a significant moment for the party's organisational resurgence in Manipur, particularly in Sadar Hills region.
Saptagiri Ulaka, who hails from Odisha, is also the chairperson of the Standing Committee on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
Notably, he is the sole representative of the Odisha Congress in the Lok Sabha, making his leadership in Manipur's political affairs a crucial step for the party's expansion and consolidation in the region.
The event, coordinated by.Jangminthang Kipgen, began with a welcome address by SHDCC president Zilkhothang Touthang.
In a display of rich cultural tradition and deep respect, the Saipikhup shawl, a symbol of honour, was presented to Sankar Ulaka, while Christopher Tilak and Outer Manipur MP Alfred Kanngam S Arthur were felicitated with Saipikhup mufflers.
Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, Kuki Women's Union Sadar Hills, Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights - General Headquarters and Sadar Hills Chapters and various other civil society organisations also attended the reception and felicitation event.
Addressing the gathering, Ulaka commended the unwavering dedication of Congress party workers in Manipur, particularly their tireless efforts that led to the party's success in both Outer and Inner Manipur parliamentary seats.
In his concluding remarks, Dr Lamtinthang Haokip expressed gratitude to the newly appointed in-charge for making time for the visit.
He emphasised the urgent need to reinforce the party's organisational activities in the district, particularly under the guidance of Ulaka.
