Imphal, January 17 2022:
While contending that there are several errors in the electoral rolls published for the upcoming 12th Manipur assembly election, Maring Students' Union (MSU) has demanded necessary rectification and punishment of all those involved in the wrongdoings.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Monday, MSU president Shillei Morung claimed to have detected errors in the electoral rolls in respect of 42 Tengnoupal A/C.After investigating into the matter, MSU has come to the conclusion that the preparation of the electoral rolls in respect of 42 Tengnoupal A/C with so many errors is a conspiracy hatched by some individuals, he alleged.
Pointing out that 42/52 Shibong polling station was separated from 42/52 Kwatha polling station, he asserted that there was no village named Yaingangtokpi when Shibong was under Kwatha polling station.
He questioned how Yaingangtokpi and its people have come into existence out of thin air.
Moreover, there are several polling stations where the number of voters has increased exponentially.
Authorities concerned should rectify the mistake without delay and all the officials involved in the wrongdoings should be punished, Shillei demanded, while cautioning of launching intense protest if their demands are not fulfilled.
