Door open for Dr Ratankumar: JD-U

While claiming that former Congress MLA Dr Kh Ratankumar had communicated with national leaders of Janata Dal-United (JD-U) regarding his interest to join the party, JD-U state president Hangkhanpau Taithul said that the party's door is always open for the former minister, who has strong belief in socialism.
Addressing a press meet held at party's Hodam Leirak office here on Monday, Hangkhanpau said that negotiations are on for 10 Congress members including sitting MLAs to join the JD-U.He, however, denied attempt to lure Congress members as alleged by Congress and added that the party never approach anybody for becoming members of JD-U.Congress party is witnessing its downfall as the party is being run by a couple of individuals.
Former minister Dr Ratankurhar's late father Kh Amutombi, also a former minister, had been deputy chief minister of the state under the flag of JD-U.Any decision of Dr Kh Ratankumar to join JD-U is like homecoming and the party's door is always open for him, Hangkhanpau reiterated.
On the other hand, the party has now decided to contest the 2022 election from over 20 assembly constituencies instead of the earlier decision of vying for 15 seats.
The party will also extend the last date of form submission for seeking the party's ticket up to January 21 if strong leaders of different political parties are willing to join JD-U, he added.
