The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) will send the prospective list of intending candidates recommended for party ticket to the Central election committee of AICC in the next two or three days.
MLA K Meghachandra, working president MPCC, said this at a press conference held at Congress Bhawan at BT Road today and added that the candidates for the first phase will be announced by AICC.
K Meghachandra added that the MPCC will write to the Election Commission of India (ECI) appealing the commission to reschedule the election for Phase I on any other day other than Sunday as it is a day of worship for the Christian community.

He added that Awangbow Newmai of NPF has made a similar request to reschedule the day of the poll.
Speaking at the press conference, Dr Kh Ratankumar, vice president (administration) MPCC denied all speculations that he had left INC to join another political party and added that he is still a 'Congressman' and a primary member of the party.
Dr Kh Ratankumar Singh has in fact been appointed as working president of MPCC with immediate effect as per a press release by AICC.
Some media houses had carried the 'speculative' report that he had left the Congress party for another political party, which is rather unfortunate, he added.
He appealed to the media to not repeat the same in future.
He also clarified that as election is just around the corner, he had submitted his resignation as vice-president of MPCC, chairman Research Department, chairman Media Committee and chairman of COVID-19 sub-committee but there was no question of him leaving the party.
Regarding the misunderstanding stemming from such media reports, he said that he has talked with AICC leaders, CLP leader and MPCC president to clarify on the issue, he added.
When The Sangai Express contacted Kh Ratankumar today evening, the former Congress MLA dismissed speculations that he has resigned/or is going to resign from the Congress.
There were some misunderstandings over post allocations within the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, he said and added that all the misunderstandings have been resolved after the matter was referred to AICC leaders including Rahul Gandhi.
