KNA to field 7/8 candidates in assembly election

Kuki National Assembly (KNA) president Dr Jainson Haokip has said that KNA is a regional political party and the party is trying to field at least 7/8 candidates from various constituencies of the state including Churachandpur district in the upcoming state assembly election.
Talking to this correspondent, the KNA president said that the party has finalised two candidates namely Dr Jainson Haokip (himself) for Churachandpur AC and Joshua Thiek Hmar for Saikot AC in Churachandpur district.
Application processes for other candidates have not been finalised and allotment of party tickets will be based on agreement for working in the interest of tribals when elected.
Even with those candidates who are not given party tickets, an agreement/understanding with the KNA shall be made to ensure that they do not deviate from working for the causes of the tribal people, he added.
According to Jainson Haokip, many people are enrolling into KNA nowadays unlike in the past and the party expects to win at least four seats.
He also said KNA was established on October 24, 1946 and registered to the Election Commission of India in 1975.The party's main agenda is to bring an understanding among mutually bickering tribes/communities and protect and safeguard interest of the tribals and their lands.
