MDA helps kids of missing driver

Imphal, March 10 2024:
Manipur Drivers' Association (MDA) donated school uniforms, textbooks and educational expenses for the children of driver Toijam Tomba of Sekmai Parao Mamang Leikai, who remains untraceable after leaving home on May 15, 2023 to offload goods of the truck he operated on May 15, 2023.There is apprehension that Tomba might be one of the victims of the ethnic clash that broke out on May 3, 2023.A team of MDA led by assistant secretary Khundongbam Sangitcharan visited the family of Tomba and handed over the items for his children.
Sangitcharan told media persons that MDA has been extending help to drivers in distress since the past many years and continued with the same humble gesture to Tomba's family.
He also said that MDA will help Tomba's children till they complete education as Tomba's wife Ichal expressed gratitude to MDA for helping the family in their hour of crisis.
Mention may be made that Tomba's mother and his younger brother died in an accident at Tendonyang in 2018 while bringing back his father's corpse to home from hospital.
