LNKRM assembly vows uplift of education sector

Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi, Manipur (LNKRM), the apex student body of Liangmai tribe in Manipur, conducted the 1st Legislative Assembly cum Seminar on 'Inclusive Education: Past, Present and Future based on National Education Policy 2020' on March 8 and 9 at Aling (Khundong Khunkhaiba) village, Tamenglong district, featuring esteemed resource person, students and community leaders.
Speaking at the seminar, assistant inspector of schools and deputy inspector, Tamei, Kengsung Newmai emphasised on the current education policies, various facilities and upgrade of education as well as role and responsibilities of parents and teachers, get acquainted with updates on policy and make the students competent.
He also shared that the village authority council, SMDC members and department concerned should be held accountable in case of any discrepancies and failure to maintain transparency in shaping the career of the students.
In his address LNKR president Mathiuchunbou Rimai stated that as education is the greatest tool for achieving social justice and equality, students should focus more on the professional courses and explore their talents.
In this fast changing world in the era of computers and internet, parents should also know what their children are exactly doing, he said while regretting that many youths are desperate as they are rendered jobless with mere certificate in this competitive world.
Therefore, the youth should also engage more on the vocational courses and discover their strengths and weaknesses least they become misnomer in the society, he stressed.
Meanwhile, in the first l.NKR Leg islative Assembly, the student body affirmed not to leave any stone un turned to uplift, upgrade and progress of the society.
Mathiuchunbou Rimai and his executive colleagues then inspected schools of Kundong Khunkahiba and interacted with the school authorities and students during which the LNKR team assured that the union will not leave them behind rather find a positive means to develop the infrastructure and administration of the schools.
The event was attended by about 1000 people, including 70 units under LNKR and others.
