Villagers made aware on voting rights

Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Field Office Chandel organised an Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Systematic Voter's Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) at Parum Pantha village community hall on Sunday.
The programme organised by the CBC, Chandel under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and attended by Purum Pantha chief Jeven Sankhil as chief guest and social worker Ss Thambal Lamkang as guest of honour commenced with a prayer by Purum Pantha Baptist Church pastor Sk Semi followed by LNNK Chandel secretary Lv Paul Thamsen speaking on the programme theme.
In his address, CBC Chandel field officer Mathew SK Bengam informed that the programme is part of the series to make the masses aware about their democratic right and duty.
He then urged the people to exercise their franchise rights and cast votes responsibly for a better and developed society.
Later, a quiz competition based on the resource person's speech was conducted and prizes distributed to the winners.
