Imphal, March 10 2024:
Federation of Civil Societies (FOCS), Manipur has remarked as resentful Kuki women disturbing and interfering with the state forces deployed in the border town of Moreh and preventing the personnel from carrying out their duty.
In a statement, FOCS referred to a viral video of Kuki women interfering police personnel in performing their duties as not only underscoring absence of law but proving that illegal Chin-Kuki immigrants are using their women to take over the border town and drive away the state forces.
Earlier, illegal immigrants Chin-Kukis prohibited sale of food items including water to the state forces in Moreh.
The personnel not only faced shortage of food and water, but also suffered from ailments.
As such, the state government should see to it that the requirements of the state forces in Moreh are met, said the statement.
On the other hand, FOCS condemned alleged lackadaisical attitude of the state government with regard to two Meitei Pangal individuals at Moreh, who were brutally thrashed by Chin-Kuki terrorists for transporting construction materials for state forces.
Thus, the Federation demanded the state government to apprehend the illegal immigrants involved and award befitting punishment as per the law of the land.
