CRPF units hold Tiranga events, observe Patriots' Day

Dett-232 (M) Battalion CRPF organised a patriotic event titled "Har Ghar Tiranga Vehicle With Foot Rally" at Old Lambulane, here, on Wednesday.
The rally aimed at encouraging the citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes, foster sense of national pride and respect for the tricolour, and attended by officials and personnel of all six companies of Dett-232 (M) Battalion was held in the presence of deputy commandant Th Debajani Devi, company commander Y Landhoni Devi, AC Oinam Riza Chanu, AC Aiswarya Joy M, inspectors Shalini Kumari and Savitamma, and Indp/GD (M) Hachumlo Lotha.
A special programme was also conducted at Cosmopolitan High School, which headmistress Y Kamala Devi and the students actively participated and appreciated the initiative.
In Kangpokpi district, 112 Bn CRPF led by Kangpokpi Range DIG Rajesh Kumar, along with unit commandant Ranjan Kumar Baruah, officers and personnel organised a bike rally to promote the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign.
The rally, which started from Kangpokpi Bazar and ended at Brig M Thomas ground after covering Yaikongpao village, was participated by CRPF personnel, Kangpokpi police led by officer-in-charge H Kipgen, and youth of the town.
Residents lined the route, cheering and waving the national flag, as the atmosphere buzzed with a palpable sense of pride.
Some CRPF personnel jogged alongside the bikers, holding the tricolour, till Daili village, approximately 2 km from Kangpokpi Town.
In his address, DIG Rajesh Kumar underscored the deeper purpose of the campaign, saying: "Every flag in a household is not just a piece of cloth - it is a tribute to the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and a living emblem of national unity".
The DIG also drew a poignant link between the rally and Manipur's own historic struggle.
"Today also marks August 13, 1891, the day when the British attempted to overthrow the King's rule in Manipur.
This day is now observed as Patriots' Day by the people of Manipur, and we join in commemorating the courage and resilience of our forefathers," he said.
Calling for unity across all sections of society, Rajesh Kumar reminded citizens that freedom was earned through immense sacrifice and must be preserved through collective dedication.
"Regardless of caste or creed, we must work together with determination to build our nation," he urged.
As part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign - 2025, 69 Bn CRPF, Mantripukhri, also organised a series of events to inspire citizens to hoist the national flag in celebration of India's Independence.
Under the leadership of CRPF M&N Sector IG Rajendra Narayan, a Tiranga Bike Rally was flagged off from the battalion headquarters on August 12.The IG, who personally led the rally, was received by officers and personnel of the battalion at the main gate before the commencement of the event.
Later the same day, another Tiranga Bike Rally, led by battalion's second in-command Pem Makan, covered the route HQ 69 Bn Khongnang Ani Karak - Lamlong - Minuthong - North AOC - HQ 69 Bn, reinforcing messages of unity and respect for the tricolour.
On Wednesday, a separate rally culminated in a flag hoisting ceremony at Sangai Higher Secondary School, Mantripukhri, where students were encouraged to uphold the dignity of the tricolour and embrace the values if represents.
As part of the campaign, national flags were also distributed to local residents, urging households to participate actively in Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by displaying the tricolour with pride.
Tiranga campaign is being held to rekindle love for the Indian Tricolour by motivat ing every Indian household to proudly display the National Flag, symbolising respect and allegiance to the nation.
Meanwhile, 86 CRPF, Lamphelpat, joined the Patriots' Day observance organised by Savio English Higher Secondary School, Thangmeiband, paying tributes to the heroes of the An-glo-Manipuri War of 1891.The event was attended by 86 Bn second in-cornmand W Nandini Devi, along with officers and personnel of the battalion.
Teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as students of the host school, also took part in honouring the memory of the patriots who laid down their lives defending the sovereignty of Manipur.
In her address, Nandini Devi expressed gratitude to the organisers and reaffirmed the commitment of the CRPF to stand united for a better future.
She recalled the courage and sacrifice of Bir Tikendrajit, Thangal General and other freedom fighters, who faced death and imprisonment while valiantly resisting British colonial forces.
