Imphal, March 20 2025:
Luwangthem Gyanendra Das, father of Luwangthem Mukesh, whose whereabouts remain unknown since March 16, has appealed for the safe release of his son on humanitarian ground.
In a press meet held at their Keishampat Leimajam Leikai residence on Thursday, Gyanendra said that ever since his son has gone missing after leaving home on March 16, his (Mukesh) mother has not eaten a morsel of food and is waiting for their son's return.
If any organisation or individual has detained Mukesh, Gyanendra appealed for his safe release.
Meanwhile, political activist Sapam Kangleipal visited the residence of Mukesh on Thursday and shared the suffering of the family.
In this regard, Kangleipal said that he would try his level best to help trace the missing student while extending full support to any decision taken by the family.
He continued that the subsequent incidents after the attempts to restore free movement on March 8 have shown dying trust of the Meetei community towards the authorities.
The Meetei community tried to support and build up the trust by surrendering all the weapons.
However, the disappearance of the student would only lead to further loss of trust, he said and urged the Governor to help trace and rescue the missing student.
