DAs, MU organise Tiranga events, I-Day dress rehearsals

JIRIBAM: The district administration in coordination with district police, 87 Bn CRPF and Assam Rifles on Tuesday organised a 'Tiranga Bike Rally' as part of the ongoing nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign.
The rally flagged off by deputy commissioner Krishna Kumar from the Irawat Square, Babupara, was participated by around 90 riders from the CRPF unit led deputy commandant Sanjay Singh, and 30 from the district administration, including the DC.
The participant spread the messages of patriotism and nationalism throughout the route of the rally which ended at Dibong Khunou.
District's civil and security officials also turned up to cheer the riders and demonstrate support for the initiative.
The DC also flagged off a Tiranga March for students from Irawat Square.
Around 100 students from Jiri College and Jiribam Higher Secondary School took part in the march organised by ZEO Jiribam.
Ahead of the Independence Day celebration, a social service camp also was organised in and around the Jiribam Higher Secondary ground, with proactive involvement of DC Krishna Kumar, district police personnel, staff and officials of Jiribam Municipal Council, district level officers and line departments.
KAKCHING: The district administration conducted a full dress rehearsal on Tuesday at the District Sports Association (DSA) Ground, Kakching Turel Wangma, as part of the preparations for the 79th Independence Day celebration on August 15.The parade commanded by Sugnu SDPO Ng Suresh Anthony had 26 contingents from the Border Security Force (BSF), Manipur Rifles (MR), India Reserve Battalion (IRB), civil police contingent, Village Defence Force (VDF), traffic police, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), ASHA worker, Assam Rifles Public School (HS), Kakching (Boys and Girls), Kakching Model High School (Girls), Kakching Turel Wangma Junior High School, Kakching Higher Secondary School (B&G), Kakching Khunou High School (B&G), Grace Cottage Academy (B&G), Victory High School, Kakching (G), Kakching Public School (B&G), MM Genius Academy (G), Kakching Khunou Makha High School (G), Padma Ratna English School (B&G), MMS Boys and Southern Manipur Band Party Academy, as well as four cultural troupes, out of nine which will perform in the Independence Day celebration.
Deputy commissioner Rohit Anand will hoist the national flag and take salute from the march past contingents at the DSA Ground during the Independence Day parade which will also feature mock drill by Indian Red Cross Society, Kakching branch, and Yoga demonstration by Kakching District Yogasana Sports Association.
BPR: The Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) Campaign, 2025 is being carried out in all government, government-aided, and private schools in Bishnupur district since August 2 in connection with the ensuing Independence Day celebration.
As part of the campaign, schools have conducted multiple patriotic-themed activities, including Tiranga-inspired wall and board decorations, Tiranga Rangoli competitions, Tiranga rallies with tricolour fabric displays, Online Tiranga Quiz at MyGov.in.
District/zonal-level quiz competitions on the topic "History of Tiranga as part of Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign was also organised at Oinam Government Higher Secondary School.
Beyond schools, other line departments in Bishnupur are actively contributing to the campaign, including Nambol Municipal Council undertaking door-to door visits, encouraging households to participate, and the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) organising a Tiranga Rakhi-making competition for residents of Girls' World Open Shelter at Nganuleima Leirak.
PHERZAWL: As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) Campaign, Zonal Education Office, Pherzawl, in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, Manipur organised a series of activities at Pherzawl Government High School on Tuesday.
The event began with a HGT rally where students marched through the streets holding the tricolour and spreading the message of national pride and unity.
At the school premises, students participated in various competitions organised to mark the occasion.
Winners were announced immediately and prizes were presented on the spot.
In a parallel initiative, the Pherzawl district administration in association with District Social Welfare Office and ZEO, Pherzawl conducted various competitions at the same venue under the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan.
Competitions including painting, slogan writing and logo designing were conducted on the theme "Drug Free Youth Developed India".
The contests were aimed at encouraging students to reflect on the harmful effects of substance abuse and express their vision of a drug-free future.
The programme also featured an awareness session on PreVention of Child Marriage.
NSS Cell of Manipur University, Canchipur, also organised a 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Rally on Tuesday as part of the nationwide campaign.
Conducted under the supervision of the ministries of Youth Affairs and Sports and Higher Education, the rally commenced from the Vice Chancellor Secretariat premises and concluded at the University gate.
A total of 400 participants, including the vice chancellor, dean of Student Welfare, registrar, finance officer, MUTA president, MUSU president, university engineers, faculty members, NSS programme officers, NSS volunteers, and students took part in the rally.
'Har Ghar Tiranga' is an initiative launched under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Ma-hotsav, encouraging every citizen to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it proudly in honour of India's independence.
The campaign aims to foster a personal connection between individuals and the national flag, symbolising both patriotism and collective commitment to nation-building.
Traditionally, the flag has been treated more formally and institutionally; this campaign seeks to make it a personal emblem of pride and responsibility.
The Ministry of Culture serves as the nodal ministry for this initiative, according to an NSS Cell, Manipur University release.
NSS Cell programme coordinator Dr Laishram Santosh Singh delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all participants for dedicating their valuable time and contributing to the rally's grand success.
