Blankets distributed at relief camps, cash to Navy's family

Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee (SCPC) and Peace & Relief Committee, Sagolband under the leadership of local MLA RK Imo distributed 200 blankets to inmates of the relief camps set up at Wisdom Palace School, New Keithelmanbi and Recent Higher Secondary School, Sagoltongba on Tuesday.
In a release, RK Imo's PRO Ng Sashikanta informed that the MLA also pledged to contribute his one-month's salary towards providing winter supplies to relief camp inmates considering the approaching winter season.
The MLA also called upon all the people, government officials, politicians and businessmen to join hands in this charitable endeavour, it added.
Meanwhile, GMF Australia, South Korea, Meetei Nongsha, Diamond Donors and Diamond TV, Khongjom viewers on Tuesday extended financial assistance to the family of village volunteer Ngangom Navy, who has been missing since May 3 when the conflict broke out.
A team including Diamond TV managing director James Heikrujam visited Navy 's residence at Sugnu and handed over around Rs 40,000 to his parents, Ngangom Sanakhomba and Ahanbi.
Appealing to all generous people to help the family, James said that Ngangom s case should be handed over to the NIA, adding that this is also the wish of the family.
The team also included CRPF commandant Nameirakpam Kunjarani Devi (Padmashree), Wangkheimayum Nandini and members of Diamond Donors.
