Imphal, October 25 2023:
The demand for separate administration is outcome of many faults of the previous governments, claimed BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi while asserting that BJP MLAs are not the ones making the demand for separate administration.
She made the statement while attending a Chakumba, which is a ceremony of feeding semi-solid/ solid food to baby for the first time, at the women-only relief camp set up by BJP Manipur Pradesh at Khuman Lampak on Wednesday.
Responding to queries from the press, Sharda mentioned some of the wrongdoings of the previous governments such as including Koubruleikha, Toribari and Kalapahar, which were under the Panchayat system of Imphal West district, under ADC.
Another example is the renaming of the sacred site of Thangjing into Thangting, all of which have been recorded, she stated.
Sharda continued that the people, right from a young child to veteran politicians, are becoming aware that the separate administration demand is not made by any of the BJP MLAs.
It is time for the people to discuss whether the BJP MLAs are truly the ones making the separate administration demand.
The conflict occurred due to the efforts being made to preserve the integrity of Manipur and rectify the wrong decisions of the previous governments, she asserted.
Stating that the government has begun taking up steps to enable displaced people to return to their homes, the BJP Manipur Pradesh president, however, remarked that it will take some time to restore normalcy in the state.
Nonetheless, the government's on going efforts to ensure resettlement of the displaced people in their respective homes, albeit slowly, will help restore normalcy in the state.
Regarding the Khuman Lampak relief camp, Sharda informed that since the camp was opened on May 21, around 100 babies have been delivered and both the mothers and babies are doing well.
The government is also providing routine health check-ups, edibles and medicines.
On top of this, RIMS, JNIMS and other private hospitals and diagnostic centres have been extending assistance non-stop, alongside many generous individuals of the state.
As such, she appreciated all for their help and urged all for continuing to work together to serve the people, while adding that the party will also work for the welfare of the people without fail.
