Number of babies born in relief camp touch 100 mark

A hundred babies have been delivered at the Khuman Lampak Youth Hostel dedicated relief camp for pregnant women.
Weaning ceremony of the first baby born at the relief camp was held today.
Lamnganba, the baby boy, was born to Chingtham Mahesh and Chingtham ongbi Radha of Napat in Bishnupur.
The parents survived the violence and fled their home and village during the early days of the conflict that first erupted on May 3 .
Attending the weaning ceremony of the baby boy, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi said so far hundred babies have been born to women in the relief camp at Youth Hostel.
The dedicated relief camp was set up on May 21 by the BJP Manipur Pradesh especially to take care of pregnant women survivors of the violent conflict, said A Sharda.
Of the hundred babies, 51 are boys and 49 are girls.
The last baby was born on October 24, she said.
The survivors are well taken care of at the camp and they aren't made to bear any of the costs.
All the costs, including for ceremonies like weaning, are borne by the BJP Manipur Pradesh and State Government, A Sharda said.
RIMS, JNIMS and many health care institutes have been providing best care to the women at the camp, she said, lauding them for their services.
