Chunav Ka Parv campaign held at MU

Manipur University organised 'Chunav Ka Parv - Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye' campaign targeting first time voters among the students enrolled under the university, ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, at the library hall of the university on Monday.
Manipur University vice-chancellor professor N Lokendra and librarian & nodal officer of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Cell professor Ch Ibohal attended the campaign as chief guest and president respectively while MU dean of students' welfare professor M Premjit and head of ancient history and archaeology department professor O Ranjit were guests of honour.
VC professor N Lokendra released a report on 'Vikshit Bharat @ 2047: Voice of Youth Campaign' as part of the event.
Union Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan had directed all Higher Education institutes in the country to conduct comprehensive voter awareness activities at their campuses from February 28 to March 6, to galvanise youth power, emphasise to them the value of voting, making informed choices, and participating in electoral processes for a more representative democracy.
The main objective of the initiative is to engage and encourage young voters to come out and vote and to convey the importance of voting for the larger good of the nation.
