Imphal, March 23 2025: A 5-day "Guru Amubi National Classical Solo Dance Festival" was inaugurated today at the auditorium of Manipuri Jagoi Marup in Lamboi Khongnangkhong today.

The festival is being organised by Manipuri Jagoi Marup, Imphal under the aegis of the Cultural Function and Production Grant (CFPG) Scheme, Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The inaugural function was graced by Manipur State Kala Academi Imphal, Secretary, Sunanda Thokchom and Manipuri Jagoi Marup president, Loitongbam Brajamohon Singh as presidium members.

At the event, Loitongbam Brajamohon said that the festival is being organised to promote the different dance forms of Manipur.

He shared that artists from across the country will showcase performances of different classical dance forms during the 5 days long festival.

Meanwhile, Kanglei Shaktam Langba Kanglup, Haobam Marak Irom Leikai also organised a "Festival of Maram Achouba Khousa" at MDU, Yaiskul today.

The festival was conducted under the CFPG Scheme.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including Chongtham Jayenta Meetei, artistic director & co-founder, Ex-Theatre Asia, Taiwan; Chingtham Birendra, president, Kanglei Shaktam Langba Kanglup; and G Dharmadash Sharma, Deputy Director, Art & Culture, Manipur.
