Outreach programme on SVEEP held

Imphal, March 16 2024:
Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Systematic Voter's Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was organised by Central Bureau of Communication, Regional Office (CBC-RO), Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, government of India at Manipur College on Saturday.
The event was presided by Manipur College principal W Sambhunath along with HOD of the department of Political Science of the college S Sobita Devi as the resource person.
At the programme, S Sobita Devi talked about ethical and informed voting.
During the interaction, Know Your Candidate (KYC) App, cVIGIL App, Saksham App, toll-free number 1950, EVM and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), universal adult franchise and voter registration were discussed.
ID forms issuance for the IDPs was also discussed to enable them to cast their vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, 2024 .
Later, an on-the-spot quiz competition was also held followed by the handing over of mementos and certificates to the winners.
Certificate of participation was also distributed to all the would-be first time voters who attended the programme.
The event concluded with a drama titled 'Mihut Khanba' by performed by private registered troupes of CBC, RO, Imphal namely Kangjabi Meitei Chanu Artistes cum Drama Association.
