CCpur gears up for LS poll, code of conduct enforced

With the announcement of schedule for the General Election 2024 by Election Commission of India, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has been promptly enforced across the Churachandpur district.
In a press conference held on Sunday at mini-secretariat complex, additional district election officer Saurabh Yadav emphasised strict compliance with the MCC until the election process concludes.
The general public are advised not to carry more than Rs 50,000 in cash, as larger amount could potentially be used for inducing or bribing voters.
Carrying narcotic drugs and illicit liquor of any kind is strictly prohibited.
The district administration and the police department have established specialised teams, including flying squad teams and static surveillance teams, to counter illicit activities, Saurabh Yadav said.
MCC district nodal officer Samuel Lhungdim urged citizens to utilise the c-VIGIL app for reporting MCC violations.
The app allows users to upload pictures, videos, or audio recordings and automatically detects their location, he continued, while informing that a dedicated media centre has been opened at Room No GF-8, Mini Secretariat Building, Tuibong to facilitate media persons in accessing election process and other activities of the DEO.
Yadav also said that special polling stations will be arranged for displaced voters at relief camps.
He urged all concerned to avail the facilities by submitting their particulars in ID forms which can be obtained from DEO office, ARO office and concerned SDOs.
The Addl DEO also said that the district administration has instituted/ put in place seizure of cash committee and monitoring teams at various locations and pub-lic/citizens may report any kind of violation of any kind to the sector officers/special executive magistrates, flying squad teams, surveillance teams for effective control over such activities, he said.
He further solicited the cooperation of all denizens to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the Lok Sabha election in the district.
