Protests for release of Pambei-led UNLF trio continue

People across the state on Saturday staged sit-in protests demanding unconditional release of the three members, including a self-styled army chief of the Pambei-led UNLF, who have been arrested by NIA.
Singjamei Yumnam Leikai Apunba Meira Lup organised a sit-in in front of Yumnam Leikai Lairembi shrine and Singjamei Apunba Meira Paibi at Temporary market in Singjamei.
During these protest demonstrations, the participants shouted slogans like, 'We want unconditional release of the arrested UNLF members', 'We want peace', 'What is the meaning of Peace Talk? ' etc.
The co-ordinating Committee Wangjing along with Wangjing Bazaar Board organised a protest at Heirok Lamkhai Wangjing Keithel condemning the arrest of three members of the Pambei-led UNLF, which had already signed peace agreement with the government of India.
At the demonstration which was also participated by members of Indigenous People Organisation of Manipur (IPOM), the protesters displayed slogans which read 'We condemn India government and state government', 'We condemn arrest of UNLF members' and 'We demand for immediate release of UNLF members'.
Meanwhile, Meitei Community Joint Co-ordination Committee (MCJCC) Waithou Kiyam Siphai Haokha and Thoubal Khunou along with its women's wing staged a sit-in at Kiyam Siphai Babu Bazaar demanding unconditional release of the arrested trio of the Pambei-led UNLF.
During the sit-in, Thoubal Khunou Women Wing secretary Pebam Indrani alleged NIA of being mute spectators to the unabated onslaught of the Kuki terrorists while arresting members of an outfit which has already signed peace agreement with the government.
Condemning CM N Biren's alleged oblivion of the reason for the arrest, she demanded the authorities to release the arrested trio immediately.
Meira Paibi Lups of different localities from Singjamei to Yaiskul, and Sangaiprou to Kwakeithel also organised torch rally demanding unconditional release of the three arrested leaders of Pambei-led UNLF, on Saturday night.
A torch rally was taken out in the district on Saturday condemning arrest of three Pambei-led UNLF cadres including self-styled army chief Shidaba Mapu alias Thoiba, SS intelligence chief Ingba and demanding their immediate unconditional release.
The rally organised by Kakching Apunba Meira Paibi started from Kakching Sumak Leikai Ground and after reaching Kakching Bazar Ibudhou Naohallai Mamang returned back to the starting point.
