Director General of Assam Rifles, KS Yadava today inaugurated the office building of the Tangkhul Naga Long and a unit hospital of 23 Assam Rifles at different places in Ukhrul district.
The DG of AR, accompanied by Mrs Meenakshi Yadava, president of the ARWWA and Major General CA Krishnan of IGAR (South) first inaugurated the unit hospital of the 23 Assam Rifles at Somsai in Ukhrul district which will provide medical treatment facilities to the personnel of the Assam Rifles and their families free of cost.
Facility for minor operation will also be provided in the unit hospital.
Later, the DG inaugurated office of the Tangkhul Naga Long office at Ukhrul district constructed with the assistance of the Assam Rifles under its military civil action programme and dedicated the office building to the people.
The inaugural function graced by the DG as chief guest was presided over by IGAR(S), CA Krishnan.
Justice (retired) WA Sishak, DC Ukhrul Ashok Kumar TNL president Solomon attended as guests of honours.
High ranking brasses of the Assam Rifles, civil administration in Ukhrul district and leaders of civil organisations also attended at the function.
KS Yadava, addressing the gathering, said that the AR authority assisted in the construction of the office of the TNL with the objective of maintaining good relation between the security personnel and civil populace.
The operation of Assam Rifles, having 80 percent of its personnel from the states of the region, has completed its 17 year of service to the people of the region.
The main task of the AR is to maintain peace and tranquility of the people of this region, he said.
Saying that AR is for the people of the North East region, the set up is efforting hard for the prevalent of peace in the region and will continue its endeavor in the future too, Yadava said expressing hope that AR will triumph in bringing peace in the region.
AR will erase the differences which come in the way of bringing peace, he assured.
