DG Assam Rifles Lt Gen KS Yadava alongwith ARWWA President and his better half Meenakshi Yadava visited Hqs 10 Sector in Ukhrul today.
The DG was accompanied by IGAR (S) Maj Gen CA Krishnan.
During his visit, the Director General inaugurated the Tangkhul Naga Long office building, built by Assam Rifles where he was accorded with a rousing reception by the people of Ukhrul who turned out in large number to receive him.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the function, the DG said that it would not be possible to fully root out insurgency from the State militarily.

However, AR and Army can reduce the activities of the insurgents, he added.
At the time when the wings of the insurgents have been clipped to a certain degree by security forces, the DG said, the State Government must actively take up developmental activities so that the problem is solved with the cooperation of the people.
Lt Gen KS Yadava dedicated the building to the people of Ukhrul and reiterated his resolve to further the friendship between Assam Rifles and the people of Manipur and also interacted with local prominent personalities and civil dignitaries.
Earlier, a modern and well equipped hospital of 17 Assam Rifles was inaugurated by the DGAR and ARWWA President at Somsai.
