Imphal, April 23 2026:
Shaken by the inhumane Tronglaobi and TM Kasom killings, aggrieved people continued to stage protest demonstrations at Namdunlong village and Keishampat today.
Condemning these crimes against humanity, Namdunlong Women Society organised a sit-in protest near Namdunlong Khun along the Khuman Lampak Stadium Road today.
Speaking by the sideline of the agitation, Namdunlong Women Society secretary Lulin Kamei said the sit-in protest was staged to denounce the heinous killing of two innocent children in a bomb attack at Tronglaobi, which also injured their mother and the death of civilians in CRPF firing on April 7 as well as the TM Kasom ambush which claimed the lives of two Tangkhul Naga men on April 18 .
She questioned why Kuki terrorists gunned down the two Tangkhul travellers after Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand's visit to Ukhrul the previous day.
The current Government has failed to rule and govern Manipur, she added.
Lulin Kamei further accused the Indian Government of allowing Kuki terrorists to fire their guns at will and strongly condemned it.
It is high time for the State MLAs to awaken from their slumber, said Lulin.
The protesters shouted slogans such as "Long Live Manipur", "Uproot Kuki terrorists from the State", "Give us justice" and "We condemn killing of innocent civilians" among others.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Chemists & Druggists Association (MCDA) organised a similar protest at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai Community Hall against the killing of children and civilians in the Tronglaobi tragedy and fatal ambush along the TM Kasom to Litan stretch of National Highway-202.At the protest, MCDA president Rajkumar Rakesh demanded swift action from the Government to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Further urging the Government to resolve the prevailing crisis, he said allowing such unrest to fester could bring more devastating social upheavals.
