Imphal, July 18 2024:
In trouble-torn Jiribam district, a majority of Government offices have ceased to function normally, according to Joychandra Konthoujam, assistant coordinator, Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) .
A COCOMI team led by Joychandra carried out an inspection of six Government Department offices in Jiribam today, namely, Agriculture, Water Supply, Fishery, Veterinary, PWD and Education departments.
Out of these, only the Education Department was found operational.
On another note, Joychandra pointed out that while new districts are created to facilitate ease in administration, the Transport Department's June 10, 2022 order instructing the setting up of a Transport Office in Jiribam remains unexecuted.
Separately, he also maintained that District Headquarters across the State will function optimally when transfer and posting of all Government employees are done without any bias.
Joychandra further called for adequate Government quarter housing for the employees.
