The programme was graced by NLANL president Yumlembam Memma Leima, the All Manipur Women's Social Reformation and Development Samaj (Nupi Samaj) president Thokchom Ramani, advisor to Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) and Macha Leima Khagembam Anandi, AMKIL president Lourembam Nganbi Leima, All Manipur Tammi Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup (Tammi Chingmi) president Yumlembam Momon, Nongchup Imphal Palem Ima Apunba Lup (N1MPAL) president Thingbaijam Ibeyaima, Thoubal Ima president Sapam Bimola, Apunba Nupi Lup (ANUL) Bishnupur president Lourembam Pramo, Macha Leima president Wangkheimayum Amusana and Ireibak Inat Chanura Loinasillol (ICHAL) president Tongbram Premalata as presidium members.
Speaking at the function, NLANL general secretary Nongthombam Radhamani said that Manipur has been going through a series of crises since May 3, 2023 following the attack on Meeteis in Churachandpur and other Kuki dominated places.
Highlighting that displaced individuals still can't return home due to security concerns, she added that the absence of violence doesn't equate to peace.
Emphasising that normalcy will return when displaced individuals can safely return to their villages, she urged the relevant authorities to take necessary actions to resettle people who are in relief camps.
Radhamani, meanwhile, alleged that the Government of India makes drugs widely available in Manipur, targeting the State's future.
Every household in Manipur now uses some forms of intoxicant, with liquor widely available even in local areas, she lamented and added that women and children are largely affected by crimes committed under the influence of drugs and alcohol, she said.
Saying that the State's economy has also worsened, she urged the Governor to take action to restore normalcy in Manipur.
