Imphal, February 07 2024:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh, BJP Ministers and MLAs, and State party chief are likely to attend the BJP National Council Meeting in New Delhi on February 17 and 18, said sources.
The meeting, in connection with upcoming Parliamentary elections, will be held in Bharat Mandapam convention centre in New Delhi.
Invitations to attend the meeting have been sent to Chief Minister N Biren Singh, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, BJP Ministers, MLAs and district presidents and several other officer bearers.
Meanwhile, taking the opportunity, some BJP MLAs are likely to meet the Central party leaders on the sideline of the meeting and discuss the current Manipur crisis.
Notably, with Manipur on the boil for over 9 months, BJP's victory in the upcoming Parliamentary elections in the State may depend on an early solution and return of peace.
Sources said some BJP MLAs have begun holding talks to pressure the Government and Central leaderships during the meeting in New Delhi to bring about a solution to the crisis before the elections.
Some MLAs, anonymously, have opined that all the Ministers and MLAs, and party leaders should collectively put pressure on the Central leaderships during the meeting to bring a solution before elections.
