Under its "Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamsi" academic campaign, the Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) is set to survey Government schools in various districts with the goal of improving existing educational standards.
Addressing a press conference today at MSF office in Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai, MSF general secretary Sundar Khuman shared that under the first phase of the academic campaign, the student body will inspect Hiyanglam Turen Manbi Primary School under Kakching district and Wangoo Sabal Naodakhong Upper Primary School under Bishnupur district.
"MSF will also hold extensive discussions with the respective teachers to improve the condition of the schools", said Sundar while appealing to the local meira paibis, clubs and the public to support the campaign.
Appealing to the people and students to have faith in Government schools, he called on the State Government to elevate the status of Government schools so that more people will study in these State institutions.
He also pointed out that the ongoing conflict has deeply impacted the student community of the State either directly or indirectly.
"The restive situation has also greatly affected people's livelihood and subsequently their ability to pay the admission and tuition fees of their children who are studying in private schools", he added.
The MSF general secretary further urged the Manipur Government to work towards boosting the conditions of poorly performing educational institutions under the School Fagathansi Mission.
