RTWS holds 31st annual conference

The 31st Annual Conference of the Rikhumai Taphou Women' Society (R.TWS) was attended by Dr Siba Lohrii, principal Mt Zion College, Kathikho Karong; P Johna, chairman Rikhumai Taphou village, and Dr Souva PM as chief guest, functional president and main speaker, respectively.
The conference highlighted the importance of women as the backbone of families and society.
Dr Lohrii urged women to use their unseen power wisely for the betterment of families, society,, and community.
He also called upon the women to raise their children in the way God wants, as children are the future leaders.
Dr Souva PM spoke on the importance of "An optimistic woman in present society", emphasising the importance of acquiring knowledge and a strong family foundation for a righteous life.
He also stressed the importance of showing good qualities to children and teach them good lessons in their lives.
Dr Souva urged women to adapt to changing times and not follow only old customs, while noting a better society relies on righteous mothers.
Various cultural items and indigenous games showcased during the programme brought back memories of the rich traditions of the forefathers.
