Imphal, February 20 2024:
In a significant move towards bolstering e-governance initiatives, the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has facilitated collaborative effort between the governments of Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir to enhance e-service delivery.
Under the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) Way Forward initiative, DARPG has been actively advocating for saturation of e-services and promotion of unified service delivery portals across states and union territories.
This initiative aims to foster a seamless interface between citizens and government entities through technology-driven solutions.
Jammu & Kashmir's exemplary progress in e-governance, marked by the provision of 1120 e-services and achieving 100 per cent service delivery through their unified e-UNNAT platform, has served as a beacon for other regions.
Recognising the potential for replication and dissemination of e-services, DARPG facilitated a two-day meeting between senior officials of Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir on February 19 and 20 .
The collaborative endeavour saw participation of senior officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MelTY) and DARPG, aimed at strengthening the state's unified service delivery portal.
Through extensive deliberations, a comprehensive roadmap was formulated to enhance the state's e-governance infrastructure.
The state government has set ambitious targets to improve public service delivery efficiency by significantly expanding its online service portfolio.
In the first phase, the number of online services is set to increase from 35 to 150, covering key departments such as Revenue, Home, Industry & Commerce, Social Welfare, PWD, and PHED.
This expansion is expected to enhance accessibility and efficiency, thereby enriching the overall experience for citizens engaging with government services.
The collaborative efforts between Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir have culminated in the development of a robust roadmap, ensuring the evolution of the state's e-governance infrastructure with a focus on efficiency, accessibility, and user-friendliness.
