Imphal, June 22 2023:
North East Students' Organisation (NESO) denounced the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi though the conflict in Manipur has exceeded over 45 days.
In a release, NESO lamented that the conflict has cost numerous lives and destroyed several properties and further appealed to all to work together to restore peace and not to believe in false propaganda and rumours.
In connection with the conflict, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the state and 40,000 additional security forces deployed, but the state and central governments have failed to contain the violence, it noted, while denouncing the silence of the Prime Minister.
The release informed that a candle light vigil will be observed in the capitals of every state to seek restoration of normalcy in Manipur.
