Imphal, June 22 2023:
Saying that the Pangal community has been deeply shocked and anguished by the IED blast at Kwakta last evening in which three innocent children sustained injuries, the Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) has urged the Security Advisor to the Government of Manipur to investigate the matter and bring out all the details at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons at their Hatta office here today, MMWO advisor Abdula Phundreimayum said that they would not remain silent to such unprovoked violence.
By planting a high intensity IED at Kwakta, some elements seemed to be scheming to make the Pangal community a party of the ongoing crisis, Abdula said.
It is a matter of grave concern that the IED exploded at a place where a large number of Central paramilitary forces were deployed, Abdula said.
He then recalled that some RAF personnel were suspended for torching a meat shop run by a Pangal at New Checkon, followed by vandalising vehicles belonging to the public at Moirangkhom.
It is puzzling that a high intensity IED exploded at Kwakta despite the presence of a large number of Central paramilitary forces, he said.
The MMWO advisor urged Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh to investigate the blast and name all the culprits at the earliest.
If the crisis seen in Manipur had happened in Delhi, Bihar or Uttar Pradesh, it would have been resolved in two days, he said.
But the Government of India has been acting mute and blind to the Manipur crisis which is now over 50 days old.
It is highly questionable if the Government of India has any hidden agenda behind its indifference, Abdula said.
Urging the Central Government to take up all possible measures to resolve the crisis at the earliest, the MMWO advisor asked all the MLAs from Manipur who are presently at Delhi to come back only after receiving a concrete response from the Central Government.
