Imphal, August 05 2023:
Shiv Sena Manipur State president M Tombi on Saturday informed that Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has instructed for assisting all those affected by the prevailing violence in Manipur.
Tombi then demanded for conduct of judicial inquiry into the brutal killings of three Meitei individuals in the wee hours Saturday.
In a press meet held at the party 's office at Babupara, Tombi said that as per the instructions of CM Eknath Shinde, the party will be providing assistance to all those affected by the violence, while continuing to aid the relief camps as well.
He then strongly condemned the brutal killings of three people on Saturday morning, while questioning how the three could be hacked and shot dead in an area said to be swarming with central forces.
Thus, a judicial inquiry should be conducted into the killings, he asserted.
Tombi also urged Meitei folks to stay and defend together at all times.
He said that if the central government fails to solve the conflict fuelled by Chin-Kuki narco terrorists, Shiv Sena, despite being part of the alliance, could take its own stand.
A team led by MP Rahul Shewale had already met the union home minister in connection with the unrest in Manipur and submitted a memorandum on the same.
In response, the union home minister assured to solve the conflict, Tombi conveyed.
Questioning why the Kukis are attacking the Meiteis, Tombi said that separate administration and separate land demands of the Kukis, along with claims over state land, can neither be granted by the state government nor achieved by killing others.
It is time for the Kuki brethren to understand that even if the animosity is escalating day-by-day, the central government is just watching it happen and not doing anything to benefit any of the communities involved, he remarked.
