Bengaluru Manipuris denounce violence in state

Karnataka Meitei Association (KMA) organised a peaceful sit-in demonstration at Freedom Park, Bengaluru on Saturday to demand that authorities concerned end the ethnic clash between Kukis and Meeteis in Manipur since May 3 .
The demonstration was organised under the theme "One Manipur: Save Manipur from Illegal Infiltration and Exploitation" with the objective to foster peace in Manipur by addressing the ongoing violence between the two communities.
KMA's primary concerns revolve around the alarming issue of narco-terrorism, which poses a serious threat to national security, and the demand for separate administration by the Kuki community.
The association firmly stands for the territorial integrity of Manipur, restoration of peace in the state, and implementation of the one state one administration policy.
More than 1000 participants, including students, professionals, and eminent personalities from both Karnataka and Manipur, took part in the peaceful protest.
Their collective presence showcased a unified call for harmony, understanding and dialogue between the communities, urging them to renounce violence and embrace peace.
Protestors held placards and shouted slogans like "Save the future of thousands of students of Manipur", "Say no to victim card in the name of religion", "No separate administration in Manipur", "Don't let Manipur be another golden triangle", "Let peace prevail in Manipur", "Zero tolerance to terrorist", "No drugs no poppy in Manipur", "Manipur crisis, a threat to National security" among others.
The Karnataka Meitei Association expressed that a peaceful and inclusive approach is essential in resolv ing the longstanding issues faced by Manipur.
