Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) chairman Jenchui Kamei has extended greetings and wished the people of India a happy Republic Day and a joyous Happy New year to Zeliangrong kindred people, the Nagas and all Indians in general.
In a statement, Jenchui said that along with the 75th Indian Republic Day, they will commemorate the 109th birth anniversary of Ranima Gaidinliu, the lone lady freedom fighter of India from the soil and soul of Zeliangrong people.
On this special day, when India celebrates the 75th birth of a sovereign republic and democratic Constitution of India, the Zeliangrong kindred people also celebrate the day with special significance the birthday of pa -triotic mother who was born on January 26, 1915, a mystic coincidental prophetic event ever to witness in the history of the world, he stated.
The chairman pointed out that India as the world's largest democracy is now on stage as the 12th superpower nation in the global arena that encompasses political influence, military might and economic resources.
In the words of Ranima, as recorded by Kusumlata Nayar in her book "Rani Gaidinliu", we are reminded that, "Like the other revolutionary brothers and sisters of India, I too struggled to drive the British out of Indian territories.
I too was in their battle." Stating that the birth anniversary of Ranima Gaidinliu is celebrated nation wide by paying tribute to her as one lady freedom fighter of the Northeast India, the chairman continued that she has been widely and highly recognised and awarded prestigious certificates and titles of honour and homage.
Her name will ever be remembered and revered by all Indians for her brave and noble service rendered to and for the cause of Freedom of India, he maintained.
Expressing hoped that the government under the dynamic world leadership of Narendra Modi will surely make their case settled as deserved and justly demanded, Jenchui Kamei explained that they conceded to come to a term of peaceful agreement for official talk to settle the protracted Zeliangrong political issues by trusting the principle of leadership of the present government.
Therefore, the people have been engaging in cordial rounds of talk in the form of Zeliangrong Statehood Working Committee, taking all the people on board for inclusive and final settlement.
"Our case is nd matching with the current issues in the Northeastern states.
Because of the fact that our case is of creating a state within Union of India on equal footing with the rest of states of the Northeast India which was not taken up at the time of Northeast reorganisations in 1970s", the chairman stressed, while adding that it is their just and due share kept in store to be materialised sooner or later.
