Imphal, January 25 2024:
Urging the government of India not to take side of the wrong doers, MSME National Board former member Robin Blackie has appealed to authorities concerned to end the nearly 9-month long crisis in the state at the earliest.
Speaking during the Gaan Ngai festival held at Langthabal Chingthak Rongmei village (Lubanglong) on Thursday during which he also presented gifts to the organisers, Robin Blackie reminded the gathering that Meeteis and Kabuis share a common bond which cannot be separated.
He also expressed hope that celebration of one of the grandest festivals of the Kabui community will help restore peace and harmony in the state.
Pointing out that the global warming will ultimately wipe out many living beings from the surface of the earth, Blackie noted that in-spite of concerned stakeholders and people of different sections of the society striving to protect the environment to lessen impact from global warming, there are some who are undermining the importance of maintaining ecological balance and continuing to indulge in deforestation activities and cultivating poppy plants.
He further stated that all the indigenous people of Manipur should unite to save the state from being destroyed while reiterating that the government of India stop favouring a particular community which is responsible for the present crisis in the state and help in restoring peace in the crisis torn state.
Langthabal Chingthak Rongmei Club advisor Gondaimei Chaningai, who was also present on the occasion, said that the Gaan Ngai festival is being celebrated in a low key manner this year in view of the hardships brought by the humanitarian in the state.
Gondaimei also prayed for early return of peace in the state.
