Imphal, November 01 2026:
Issuing an urgent call to Zeliangrong community for vigilance, unity and protection of ancestral lands, the Zeliangrong United Front-Kamson has accused the ZUF-J of collaborating with security forces.
The ZUF-J (Jenchui-Kamei) is a CoO (Cessation of Operation) group.
In a statement, the ZUF-K said, "While Zeliangrong land and people face severe threats and continuous aggression from Kuki militants, which has resulted in the loss of civilian lives and the destruction of villages, ZUF calls upon the Jenchui-Kamei group (CoO / Rehabilitation Campers) to remember the fundamental principles and sole objectives of their formation: to protect the people, land & resources and to uphold the culture and traditions of the Zeliangrongpui" .
The Jenchui-Kamei group should immediately cease all actions that endanger the lives and property of any Zeliangrongpui or create further division among indigenous communities, it said.
"The ongoing collaboration involving armed groups, security personnel and other actors in targeting Zeliangrongpui village guards and volunteers-severely endangering village civilians-must be stopped immediately given the grave situation facing our people," it added.
The ZUF-K further said that it has credible evidence that indicates that the CoO members have been allegedly utilised as tools, transported across the Zeliangrongpui region using security forces' vehicles (including CRPF CoBRA Casspirs) "to act against fellow Nagas and Zeliangrongpui interests." "The CoO group is called upon to repent and cease all anti-people activities immediately," it said.
The ZUF-K said that any political engagement with the Government of India must be deeply rooted in the genuine interests and aspirations of the Zeliangrongpui people.
Any political process that fails to secure the people's participation, land, identity, customary rights and future cannot credibly claim to represent them.
The Zeliangrongpui people demand unity, vigilance, and accountability from every organisation operating within the ancestral land of the Zeliangrongpui people.
"We once again reaffirm that the protection of our people, ancestral land and cultural identity remains the highest priority of the Zeliangrong United Front-a cause to which we remain steadfastly committed and dedicated, wherever and whenever required" .
All Zeliangrongpui across Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland must remain highly vigilant in safeguarding their villages, ancestral lands, people and resources amid the prevailing security situation, it added.
