Cyber security lab opened at MPTC

Imphal West DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar on Wednesday inaugurated a cyber-security lab at Manipur Police Training College (MPTC), Pangei in the presence of MPTC assistant director Md Abdul Kalam.
The lab, set up by National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Imphal under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Electronics, Information & Technology, will provide training on cyber security to personnel of police, CID and other law enforcing agencies.
Speaking on the launch event, NEILIT Imphal executive director Dr Yumnam Jayanta informed that the institute was selected for providing training on cyber-security to personnel of law enforcing agencies under the Ministry's 'Empowering Police Personnel and Government Officials of NE States through IT and Cyber Security Training' project which is implemented in all the north-eastern states for a period of three years.
NIELIT will take the responsibility of developing the lab, supplying computer sets, furniture and maintenance.
The project aims to provide cyber-security training to 3000 personnel of police, CID and other law enforcing agencies in the state.
After the completion of the three years, the course will be opened to the general public, he added.
