Imphal, July 25 2023:
Urging all to come out and fight unitedly in the present 'war', the Manipur Keithel Nupi Phurup has appealed to all those who dare not come out for unity to remain indoors.
Speaking as chief guest at the felicitation of the 12 mothers whose nude protest on July 15, 2004 in front of Kangla Gate led to removal of AR personnel from Kangla Fort, organised by Manipur Women Federation (MWF) at its Wangkhei office on Tuesday, Manipur Keithel Nupi Phurup secretary Laishram Mema Devi expressed that the present 'war' in Manipur cannot be taken lightly as it will eventually create a new history of Manipur.
She further informed that under such a situation, it would be unwise on our part to remain divided.
We need to come together unitedly and join the war.
For those who cannot stand united in such a juncture, they should stay at home, she advised.
Presided over by Manipur Women Federation president Khundongbam Sini, the function was also attended by Federation of Civil Societies Organisation (FOCS) Manipur vice president BM Yaima as guest of honour.
Manipur Women Federation general secretary Takhellambam Demona delivered the keynote address of the function.
