Volunteers of CPI-Manipur State Council (MSC) staged protest at the gate of Manipur Legislative Assembly complex and demonstrated near the bust of Jananeta Irabot at Lilasing Khongnangkhong, Thangmeiband on Tuesday, demanding clarification on why a special Assembly session is not convened to discuss and find solution to the prevailing crisis in Manipur.
A large number of CPI volunteers staged the sit-in at Yumjao Lairembi community hall, Lilasing Khongnangkhong at the end of which the protestors marched up to the gate of the Assembly and shouted slogans like ' Solve Manipur unrest", "Give reason for not calling Assembly session", "No Separate Administration", "Open national highways immediately", "Provide safe housing to displaced people in relief camps", "Provide adequate security for farming activities", "PM must no longer remain silent", and "Discuss Manipur issue in parliament at the earliest" .
