State Badminton: U-15 semis line up complete

The semi-final line up for U-15 boys & girls competition of the 67th State Open Badminton Championships 2023 has been completed on Tuesday with Ch Bose Singh, L Luwangamba, Leo-nie Tayenjam, Chanulembi Sapam & Ch Bellarix Devi, all from IWDBA; Martin Ingudam (BDBA); Sushanta M (KDBA) and M Rebika Devi (IEDBA) winning their quarterfinal matches at MBA Indoor Stadium, DMU Campus.
In U-15 boys singles quarterfinal matches, seventh seeded Ch Bose upset top seed L Kalo Truman (SDBA) 15-21, 23-21, 21-19, third seeded Martin Ingudam edged past fifth seeded S Shyamchandra Singh (IWDBA) 21-17, 21-15, Sushanta M beat K Nongdam-
ba Khuman 21-8, 21-10 and second seeded L Luwangamba overcame sixth seeded S Pin-ibash Meitei (TDBA) 20-22, 21-13, 21-12 .
In U-15 girls singles, top seed Leonie Tayenjam breezed past Rajkumari Irina (IEDBA) 21-4, 21 6, Chanulembi Sapam toiled to defeat L Nandita Devi (IEDBA) 21-18,19-21,21-16, M Rebika overcame An-gom Lanchenbi Devi (IWDBA) 21-18, 21-18 and second seeded Ch Bellarix beat her district team mate A Devika Devi 21-6, 21-18 .
In the U-15 boys semi-finals on Wednesday, Ch Bose will take on Martin Ingudam and Sushanta M will face L Luwangamba, while in U-15 girls semi-finals Leonie Tayenjam will slug it out with Chanulembi Sapam and M Rebika will take on Ch Bellarix.
Meanwhile, in men's singles, L Unilkumar (TDBA), Bidyasagar Salam (IWDBA), H Malemnganba Singh (BDBA) and Sirzeet M (IEDBA) reached the semi-finals.
In quarterfinal matches played Tuesday, top seed H Malemnganba defeated his district-mate 0 Aimson Singh 21-13,21-8, third seeded Sirzeet M overcame fifth seeded Ch Ritesh Singh (IWDBA) 21-18,15-21, 21-12, seventh seeded L Unilkumar overcame fourth seeded K Dingku Singh (BDBA) 21-17, 18-21, 21-16 and second seeded Bidyasa gar Salam beat Jomi Singam (IEDBA) 21-14, 21-10 .
On the other hand, top seed Ksh Maheshwari Devi (IEDBA) sealed the semi-final berth in women's singles event by defeating Leonie Tayenjam (IWDBA) 21-14, 21 13 .
