3rd GB meeting of Punshi Meira VLF convened

The Self Help Groups established in various localities of the State under Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission have played a significant role in building unity among women and enhancing the economic empowerment of women, said Dr Elangbam Amitkumar.
This statement was made by Lamyanba Enterprises proprietor, Dr Elangbam Amitkumar in the 3rd general body meeting of Punshi Lamjing Meira Village Level Federation held at Hiyanglam Makha Leikai Community Hall.
It was attended by A Robita, secretary, Organisation for Indian Women Against Crime, N Jeena, manager, Manipur Rural Bank Kakching, Kakching District Cluster Coordinator, Kh Yaisna, Social Worker, N Yaiskul and Punshi Lamjing Meira VLF, president H Sunibala among others.
Further Amitkumar stated that the formation and establishment of VLFs and SHGs in various localities of the State under National Rural Livelihood Mission with the support of Manipur State Livelihood Mission, Govt of Manipur has brought significant changes in various fields particularly, in building unity among women of Manipur, which die SHGs serves as a platform to gather together and share thoughts and ideas among themselves.
He stated the loan disbursed by the banks through SHGs have immensely helped the women in enhancing their livelihood.
He also assured the women of Hiyanglam to extend every possible support for their welfare in collaboration with the SHGs.
At the event, A Robita, secretary of Organisation for Indian Women Against Crime also stressed on the issues of "Crime Against Women" and the measures to be followed by women to curb crimes against women.
