Public meeting bats for peaceful coexistence

Bishnupur, January 03 2024: A meeting of Meitei Pangal and Meetei communities settling in Kumbi as sembly constituency was held at Leitanpokpi on Tuesday to discuss the January 1 Lilong incident, and resolved to continue to co-exist in peace and harmony.

The meeting which was held under the aegis of Kumbi MLA Sanasam Premchandra was attended by Meitei Pangal people from Saiton Awang leikai, Borayangbi and Leitanpokpi, Kwakta Saiton Zilla Parish-ad caretaker member Md Bharat, Saiton Gram Panchayat pradhan M Ibomcha, BJP Kumbi Mandal president S Angousana, BJP Bishnupur District Committee vice president Kh Laxman, and Kumbi MLA's PRO Y Manimohon, among others.

The speakers in the meeting urged the public not to believe in rumours regarding the January 1 incident and strive to live in peace and harmony.
